I am rebuilding the head / timing chain on 2015 Equinox 2.4 LEA engine. Here is my question - When installing the LEA camshafts, there are no thrust washers. From years back, when you installed cams there was endplay adjustments. All I have seen in the service manuals and in threads is to install camshaft. There is slack /endplay on the cams (back and forth play). Do I just push them against head at the camsproket side and then torque caps? It looks like that is where all the lobe wear on cams was, but just making sure I am not missing something. With that much play it seems there would be a note to check / adjust endplay or just push towards timing sprocket side and then tighten bolts. Am I worried about nothing? If you can shed some light, please do! Thanks ...
