Not that I have heard of, but no one I've heard of has yet replaced a battery on a 2025. Nor 2024 or 2023 that I recall. There is no mention of needing a scan tool when replacing the battery in the manual.
From my 2022 manual:
Battery Load Management
The vehicle has Electric Power Management
(EPM) that estimates the battery's
temperature and state of charge. It then
adjusts the voltage for best performance
and extended life of the battery.

I’ve read about something called Battery registration using a scan tool and that most modern cars require this . So I was wondering if the Equinox requires this . My wife has a 19 premiere and was planning on a new battery soon just for precaution due to original one being 6 years old and was wondering if this would need to be done .

Absolutely not on a 2019. Like said, I don't think the 2025's even have this thankfully.
