2020 Equinox Suspension Noises

I have a 2020 Equinox that I love. I bought it used in 2023 and have had a lot of suspension issues with it. WIthin 3 months, Chevy had to replace upper and lower control arms and bushings. They also had to replace some stuff in the back. Now, 16 months later, the car was making noises when going over bumps and speedbumps. Took the car in and they said stabilizer bar. They replaced that with the bushings. Car was still making noises. Took it back. They said it was struts and strut mounts. They replaced those and the car is STILL making noises. This is a Chevy dealer and they can't figure it out. They have now sent in a ticket to GM Engineering to get help. Anyone have any ideas?

What noises? A clunk, a thud, squeak, scrape, grind, howl, moan, whistle, boing, clang, rattle, buzz, screech, boom, or something else?

Without any additional information, I can tell you just from personal experience with my 2018 that I had a defined clicking/clunking sound especially at low speeds over bumps and uneven pavement. I fixed it myself for free; it was the bolts on the stabilizer bar links on the front driver side were slightly loose. The passenger side were loose as well but not quite enough for movement. I tightened them up with a torque wrench and haven’t had an issue since. Worth a check, it’s free and easy to DIY. This was around 100K miles.

I could replicate the sound/feel by opening the driver side door and pushing up/down on the door jamb to rock the car side to side somewhat aggressively; I tried this from all four sides of the car and could hear it coming from that area the clearest. Again we don’t have much info to go on, but given you said speed bumps and same gen. Equinox, why not check it out.

I describe it as a crunching/grinding noise. I especially notice it when going over speedbumps at a low speed. **UPDATE** went to pick it up from the dealer Friday. They replaced driver side lower control arm. Drove the car over a speedbump at the dealer and brought it right back to them.

They just replaced the stabilizer bar and all of that... Still made the noise after. Then they replaced the struts and strut mounts claiming that would fix it. Still does it. Now they replaced the drivers side lower control arm and it still does it. Today they're doing the passenger side control arm. They're literally throwing parts at it. Claim they even brought in a GM engineer.

Hope this is all under some kind of warranty. Just bought our 2020 in February and with a January 2020 build date all warranties up.

MOST has been under warranty. I bought their warranty from AutoNation when I bought the vehicle. It's just odd (not really) that they are really struggling to find the cause. I LOVE the vehicle, but maybe it's time to take it elsewhere to be looked at...
