Hello,

i want to start with stating I'm not the most car savy person

i recently noticed an orange red liquid leaking from my car. I got under there and it looks like it's on the front passenger side right next to the wheel control arm. Looking under the hood i don't see anything, only from the bottom.

After taking a short drive i do notice a slight sweet burn smell like maple syrup.

To the touch the liquid is oily but i didn't notice a smell.

Any help or insight is appreciated.

That looks like DEXCOOL (engine coolant) leaking from the radiator hose on the passenger side at the engine or radiator. I have seen many start leaking at the hose on the radiator side, and these hoses need to be replaced after time as they become hard and don't seal without having to really crank the clamp. I marked the hose in yellow for you. I'd start there.

Does look like coolant leak. After fixing your leak, you might consider flushing the system and replacing the fluid if it has been about 5 years since last flush.
