2007 Chevy equinox no gear recognition P0706

Cannot start car, vehicle is only throwing one code, cannot figure out where to start. Not recognizing any gear.

It will not crank or start because the ECM is unsure if the vehicle is in neutral or park. it could be as simple as a bad battery. It could be the neutral safety switch or the TCM, too.
