hi guys, i just got an equinox 2013 LS from my company as a personal vehicle, and I got 2 questions:

1. How do i use the USB port to play MP3 songs ??? I tried putting mp3 USB into my center console USB port and the AUX didn't pick it up, i tried 2 different USBs, 16GB and 32GB, both did not work, am I missing something ???

2. How do i remove the rear license plate light ? I can't find a clip or screw to take it out.

Thanks for the help

The USB hook up is really only for Ipod/Iphone integration into your stereo. The only other way you can play music is by a alternate device like android smart phone or mp3 player. You will have to use the headphone jack to hook up to.

I will try to see what I can find about the license plate light.

thanks a lot for the reply, in regards to the USB port, I read it on the infotainment system manual that it does take the USB stick directly for mp3 plug & play, so :wtf2:

if you do find out how to remove the rear plate lights, please let me know, thanks again.

Hmm, I did not know that. I wonder if it has to do with the way the USB stick is formatted. I will try it with mine to see if I can get it to work.

My 12' Tundra didn't like my Jump Drives having folders.

I put my main 30-50 on the drive and problem solved.

Just sucks cause I have over 3,000 files & random
would be ridiculous if I was trying to find one song.

2. How do i remove the rear license plate light ? I can't find a clip or screw to take it out.
Taken from the manual...

License Plate Lamp
To replace one of these bulbs:
1. Open the liftgate partway. See Liftgate on page 2-9 for more information

Passenger side shown, driver side similar

2. Push the left end of the lamp assembly towards the right

3. Pull the lamp assembly down to remove from liftgate.

4. Turn the bulb socket (A) counterclockwise to remove from lamp assembly (C).

5. Pull the bulb (B) straight out of the bulb socket

6. Push the replacement bulb straight into the bulb socket and turn the bulb socket clockwise to install into lamp assembly.

7. Turn the lamp assembly into the liftgate engaging the clip side first

8. Push on the lamp side opposite the clip until the lamp assembly snaps into place.
