Update - I took the Equinox for a 7-8 mile highway round trip today. I drove highway speeds and it did not overheat at all. Parked it, opened the hood and everything looked normal. Coolant reservoir normal. I think I might have had an air pocket in it the previous time I drove it. Before leaving that time, I had topped up the coolant, and put the lid on without running it a few minutes first. I think that caused an air pocket /overpressurized the system. Guess I'll drop it off at my mechanic and ask him to look it over while doing a couple of other "regular maintenance" fixes ( I need at least one front bearing replaced). Ask him to check if I need a coolant temp sensor or a new thermostat. Sorry my posts are long. If anyone has time to read it I'd be interested in your opinion. Thanks.
