2017 Equinox LT 2.4 65k mi.
There IS a TBS out on that oil filler cap. Dorman also sells one at Auto parts stores. The part number is #80987 and this also has the integrated check valve pressure release embedded in the cap. I just bought one for $14 and just replaced my OEM cap which does not...
Okay thanks, I will check it out. Mine has had the rear differential replaced due to some harsh chattering when turning. The replacement came from a salvage yard.
Thanks for all the research and info. My daughter has recently purchased a 2017 equinox AWD 54k on it and we serviced the rear diff but not the transfer case or the clutch pack. Good to know these things from someone who has done it.
It doesn't recognize the part Vin number programmed into the replaced module, you will have to get it programmed to your vin number. That is a dealer issue I believe.
I would make sure that you can run a full 12 volts to the harness. If it is module controlled it may only be a 5 volt trigger source through the BCM. 12 volt signal might fry something in the module. So test it out first.
A schematic diagram would be the way to start for sure.
Alldata.com you...
We used the original module instead of replacing and programming a replaced one, however I am told that if the differentials have the same number on them, you won't need to reprogram the new one.
That said I am not sure if that would work because we used the original module in place.

this clutch seems to be the culprit. It is four bolts and remove the drive shaft and replace with a salvaged one from junkyard. A lot easier than replacing the complete differential which is what I did. The differential stays in place, no need to remove the wheel axles etc .
Is the replacement MAF sensor OEM or aftermarket?
I won't say all aftermarket sensors fail right out of the box, but you might want to test the "new" one. New stands for Never Ever Worked to some of the mechanics i watch.
Just sayin.
You might check the rubber hose to that caliper. If it is compromised on the inside it will not let the caliper piston retreat and cause your issue. They break down and cause a little "rubber flap" on the inside of the hose which keeps pressure on the piston.
I did end up replacing the rear differential and that got rid of the problem. However I am curious as to what caused this. It is a new vehicle to me but has 54k miles on it, and I got a used diff from a local salvage yard. I have read and heard that changing tires on an AWD vehicle could...
