I am using Mobil one 0W-20 Dexos 1 Gen 3 in my 2021 with no issues . I don't know what the EP oil is, but you must use oil meeting the specifications I listed. If you have issues using the recommend oil, see your dealer, you have a warranty.
These engines are known to have timing chain failures when the oil has not been changed every 3000 to 4000 miles. A timing chain replacement requires removal of the engine and is very expensive. I would not purchase unless you can see the service records. Most people don't change their oil...
I purchase an auto stop eliminator on Amazon for about $25 and it works great on my 21 Equinox Premier AWD. It shows no trouble codes and my dealer sees no problem wit using it.
The 2.4 is probably the least reliable engine built by GM in recent years and will eventually fail. If it is running OK, sell it now and replace the car with an 18-22 Equinox. The engines in these are much better. I am sorry to inform you of this, but if you read this and other Equinox-Terrain...

Is the Equinox AWD like the 4 WD auto on the Silverado that can be used when you have intermittent slippery roads? Or should it be used on snow packed or Icey roads only. The manual is poorly written and not clear.
