My kit was about 350 online was a cloytes kit that includes the water pump but not the cover gasket the cover gasket was another 28 bucks did the timing at a friend's house on the ground, no lift needed, just Jack and stand for the passenger wheel removal to get access.
I will say it...
Set got delayed FedEx destroyed the package and lost half the parts (it was kinda big and all) all the stuff got claimed and refunded. Now the set of all parts is out of stock. Got to look else where. I will have to figure out all the parts in the set and order them individually if I can...
The good kits are important. Have a 12 here someone put a cheap kit in from Amazon and guide broke off on side with in a few miles, bought car for parts from the guy that that happened too.
I would recommend you also do the waterpump. It's right there and easily accessible if your doing...
No they checked that I am going to change all busing and joint parts I have a set comming and see if it cures it but the tire and alignment shop count not find it. It doesn't look like any of that has ever been changed but they don't look loose. So for a few bucks I'll change it all in hopes...
The taillight holes will always leak the tape breaks down. Everyone I know around me that as an equinox with that hole cover they all leaked. Easy fix take light out, go to hardware store and get the rubbery back stick on flashing (it's kinda like a thin aluminum foil with sticking rubbery...
Could be but with car in air could not make a noise when rotating them. I had thought about maybe a drive shaft component nothing seemed like it would be the culprit.
I was hoping someone else here had this same issue before, I hate to wait till it gets worse to find it
My 2011 2.4 AWD has an intermittent thud feel in back randomly before shift in any gear. Almost like a rear suspension piece is loose. But alignment shop could not find anything questionable.
It's intermittent and may happen every time I accelerate from a stop or might not happen at all...
I don't know if the OP got theirs resolved but I had the same issue and was trying to give some info. Your welcome to contact me on here if you need a hand with similar issues. (Right now I am about to do a fuel injector set on a 12 that was a parts car but now being fixed).
He told me both those things something about the model years vary about resetting the throttle body, but honestly I think the leaving battery off for a while is the way to go then do the steps mentioned
Also to clarify the mechanic said he seen alot of the factory throttle body on the 2.4s only fail after 80 to 100 k miles. So he was quick to just tell me to start there.
I put a 60 throttle body in it. I originally was going to swap one from another car but decided it was best to replace. In theory you can do the sensor but I believe its throttle blade out to do it. Or it looked that way on mine. I gave in and went new mostly because the dealer mechanic...
Did you figure it out yet?
I have an 11 2.4 awd that acted similar with 114k. I had massive issues in trans had a total rebuild but it was also slipping as well as reving weird. Fixed trans issue with 3/5/r slips and bang into gear, and slipping. Then after that I had the high RPM like...
Ah ok, but the rcm in your own is behind the plastic cover, if the valve bodies matched you could swap tcm.
Well hope you got it running. I have been though some transmission nightmares. Currently doing a refresh on an 11 wave plate starting to go on 3-5-r
Did you check for "proper fluid level" in trans. I did this too and experienced many wierd issues. You have to di the fluid trans hot and running like a normal auto. I believe 14 is same as the 11 and 12 here. They are super finicky with trans fluid level. I filled on running cold and...
I bought a 2012 equinox LT, from a local guy for parts. Already swapped the few bits I needed (better plastic trims than mine) and gave up on the touch screen radio swap. I am trying to keep the wheels as I bought it to get the tires for mine.
So I have the whole car complete for parts or...
