I just took delivery of a 2025 Equinox RS. I ordered the "geniune GM" cargo net accessory (part 26470092) specified for the 2025 Equinox. Surprisingly, unlike my 2015 Equinox, there is no upper hook to attach the cargo net. The lower hook is there. The "geniune GM" cargo net accessory came with two hooks on metal studs and an instruction sheet that said to go online to see the instructions. There are no instructions for part 26470092 online.

I'm guessing you drill through the plastic and maybe there is a threaded hole there? Anyone encounter this? I hate to start drilling into plastic without some assurances that I'm drilling in the correct spot.

Interesting. Mine has the two hooks on each side. But in this pic I just found of the '25, it looks like only one hook on each side. Is this what your car looks like? If so, then your net might not really be for the '25.

Welcome to the forum!

Below is a screenshot of what my rear hatch area looks like. (This came from a youtube review video so I know it isn't just my vehicle missing an upper hook.) I've circled in red where a second hook would logically belong. The "genuine GM" cargo net came with two additional hooks with threaded studs on them which is what led me to believe I need to drill somewhere in the plastic and find metal underneath with a threaded hole.

Having said that, maybe you are correct. The style you show in your image only requires a single mount point. I've double checked the Chevy accessory site and they do specify part 26470092 for the 2025 Equinox. I'm also suspicious that other cargo nets for other GM vehicles all have install instructions posted but theire are no instructions for part 26470092. There is an 800 number which I'll try to call but I doubt it's anything more than a sales number. Ugh!

Thanks for commenting!

Just to close the loop on this, I opened a ticket with Chevy and they just emailed me the instructions. Below is a snapshot of the relevant part. I'm still a little queasy cutting into plastic on a new vehicle but we will see.

There was an 800 number at the bottom of the Chevrolet Accessories page that I called. If your issues are not related to a Chevrolet accessory purchased from that page then I doubt they will open a ticket for you.

I did call it, they were not helpfull and did not offer to open a ticket. I thought maybe you found a cheat code. :) Be careful, I don't think instructions have caught up to the 2025 yet. My GM friend printed off for me the trailer hitch. I was just showing a friend your post and how they changed the hitch online store and now it is not event showing. So I looked at the cargo net and it not showing. Not saying what you have is wrong, just that I don't trust the documents right now. Look at the online owner manual for LKA, it says it on the streeing but it is in the settings.

I'm still seeing the cargo net but maybe it's because I fully specified my 2025 Equinox as an RS. Or maybe I drilled down via a different path. In any case, your caution is warranted. That's why I want to be sure the instructions are correct before cutting into the plastic. Ugh! Maybe I'll start with a small hole with a drill bit. The instructions are dated 2024 so maybe they are correct?

I'm happy to report that the install instructions I was sent were indeed correct. There was a threaded nut under the plastic. I used a 1/2 inch forstner bit to drill out the plastic. Please note that the threaded nut is not perfectly centered on the plastic circle so I'm glad I used a 1/2 forstner bit.

I know I'm late to the party but a flat head screwdriver pops off the plastic covers. There are grooves if you look at it it's more like a cap put the screwdriver in pop it off the hole is exposed to screw in the mounts. No need to cut with a knife. Not sure why the instructions say to cut. There are three little plastic pieces that stick off the edge of the circular piece that pops off almost looks like you're taking it part of model kit.

Can you please take a photo of what the hole and the stud behind it looks like as well as the t-anchor that screws on to that stud?

I bought a generic net but the parts are the same from what I understand.

I bought my generic net from this outfit on eBay and they sold me the t-bolts for five bucks you could send them a message and they'll probably do the same. The net I bought didn't come with any.

Any idea if there was anything on the package for those t hooks to identify them for ordering? Branding, numbers, sizes maybe?

No it was a generic package. When I ordered the net I reached out to the seller who told me I needed the hooks (which I figured).) I suggested that they include the hooks in the price of the net and raise the price by five bucks in the future. The net cost me $15. The top part of my net has bungee loops so it works on the hooks. I'm not entirely sure why Chevrolet would sell a car with the option to have anchor points that make it to where you have to do some investigating on how to Anchor the net in the back of your vehicle. But then again I'm also wondering why they decided to sell an equinox without a premium sound system but that's a whole other thread.

I wrote the guy at eaccessoriesusa today. Here's his listing for the correct T-hooks. Good to know if you already have a cargo net that will work.
