New 2017 LT 2.4L owner

**Update** ...when I joined the forum and posted, I intended to purchase this problem free pristine car with 28K miles within a few days. Upon researching here, YouTube, and finally speaking to a mechanic, I decided not to purchase due the troublesome history of the Ecotec 2.4L engine. It's my mother in-law's who is no longer able to drive. So family will now be selling. Good luck with your Ecotec...just not a risk I'm willing to take.

Being that you purchased it in Florida, I'd suggest having the under carriage checked for any rusting issues.

The wife and I must be an exception to the rule as we have taken the risk twice based on our experience of our first Equinox, a 2016 LT with the Ecotec 4 cyl. We have driven that vehicle from the Midwest to Florida and back at least a half dozen times also to Oho more than a dozen times. Its been comfortable, great on gas and plenty of pep for a 4 cyl although a few more horses would have been a good thing when fully loaded with people and vacation crap going through the mountains. After 2 years of ownership of the Equinox we traded in my 2010 Malibu LT with well over 100k trouble free miles on its Ecotec engine. Although the entire A/C system needed replaced due to some catastrophic issue of the compressor. Greatly appreciated the extended warranty purchase. Anyways, with the 2016 Equinox LT now occupying my side of the garage it was a "No Brainer" when we found a 2017 Equinox Premier on year end model sale to occupy the wife's side. Fast forward to today with both Equinox with well over 100k miles and each ready for a third set of tires we have decided the 2016 is going to be a granddaughter's first car and the 2017 Premier is gong to my side of the garage. We have looked at 2024/25 Equinox with the turbo and just not convinced of the longevity of it since we do put a lot of miles on our vehicles. Sadly, our next vehicle may not be an Equinox!

Always glad to see exceptions to the norm. I will say my 1.5 has almost 100,000 km on it and going strong. I don't drive as much as I used to, but more than the average driver. It sat in the body shop for @ 4 months, if not for that I would be well over 100k
